    Hours: 8:30 am-5:00 pm  Monday-Friday - Occassional nights/weekends

    Responsibilities

    The Volunteer Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to:

    1. Assists with recruiting and training activities for the department.
    2. Participates in presentations and marketing of the volunteer program
    3. Assists with volunteer interviews, reference checks and initial volunteer screening
    4. Provides ongoing support of the volunteers to enhance recruitment and retention of volunteers to meet hospice's needs
    5. Orients new volunteers to facilities and homes
    6. Assists with the preparation of monthly volunteer timesheets and volunteer notes
    7. Schedules and conducts volunteer training
    8. Assists in the supervision of the volunteers.
    9. Follows through with visits and calls as needed to promote their comfort level and provide support
    10. Provide ongoing support and recognition for volunteers through telephone calls and visits
    11. Completes yearly supervisory visits of volunteers
    12. Schedules time in a flexible manner to accommodate volunteers' time
    13. Identifies and reports any and all infractions of volunteers, with regard to legal parameters, confidentiality and boundary issues
    14. Organizes and works with volunteers for health fairs and events
    15. Handles other office duties.
    16. Completes filing, typing and mailings and computer work as assigned
    17. Assists with preparation of the volunteer newsletter
    18. Attends team meetings as necessary for volunteer participation

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Associate's Degree in a related field

     

    Professional Experience:

    • Preferably 1-2 years
    • experience in a related capacity
    • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable source of transportation
    • Must be willing to travel
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
